MACH Irish Setters
AKC Agility officially began January 1, 1994.  The Jumpers With Weaves (JWW) classes officially began January 1, 1998.  The AKC Agility Championship (MACH) program began January 1, 1999.  Preferred classes were officially added beginning September 1, 2002.  The Fifteen And Send Time (FAST) classes officially began January 1, 2007.  The Time 2 Beat (T2B) classes officially began July 1, 2011.  The AKC Preferred Agility Championship (PACH) program began July 1, 2011.

To obtain the MASTER AGILITY CHAMPION title (MACH), a dog must exhibit superior performance on the agility course.  Speed and consistency are the two major qualities denoting "superior performance."  In order to acquire the MACH title, a dog must achieve a minimum of 750 championship points and 20 double qualifying scores obtained from the Excellent B Standard Agility class and the Excellent B Jumpers With Weaves class.

Qualifying in both the Excellent B Standard Agility class and the Excellent B Jumpers With Weaves class on the same day equals one Double Q.

Following are the Irish Setters that have earned the coveted MACH title.  (verified AKC records thru 12-31-11)

Tango and Sophie - October 2009
When I lead out on course, every single time, there is one last thing I say to myself before I turn around to release my dog.
I pause, take a breath and think... "I love this dog with all my heart... "

You never, ever know when you won't have your beloved companion any longer.  You never know if the run you're about to enjoy is the last one you'll ever have together.

You'd better enjoy every single moment while you can.  If you do not, you will have missed the only lesson that really matters... the pure enjoyment that comes from the love and companionship of a trusted, loyal and loving canine partner.
